The Peterborough Foyer is part of a national network of 130 Foyers supported by The Foyer Federation. The aim of Foyers is to break the ‘no home, no job’ cycle by combining a safe place to live with personal support, training and employment advice.
Axiom's Foyer in Peterborough provides accommodation for up to 49 young people between the ages of 16 and 25 and gives them the opportunity to increase their skills within a health-promoting community in which they can grow and thrive.
Crown Trade Timonox paints were applied over existing coatings as part of a Class 4 upgrade system, which retains, or reinstates the highest category of flame retardancy (Class 0). Crown Trade Timonox Class 4 upgrades, or warringtonfire* Blueboard tested, products can be applied to any painted, non-combustible surface as long as the existing paint is sound. The systems have been developed as an option for areas which may be classed as ‘high-risk’, such as escape routes or circulation areas, or surfaces that just need to be brought to a higher level of flame retardancy.
No matter what has been applied previously, providing the existing paint is sound and the surface non-combustible, the new systems will bring the level of fire protection into the highest category – Class 0. Added reassurance is provided by the fact that all systems have been applied to panels prepared, coated and tested under full warringtonfire supervision.
The foyer project included the repainting of all communal areas, including corridors, stairwells, lobby, IT training suite and conference room. Residents and staff at the foyer chose their favourite colour schemes from a range designed and presented to them by Crown Trade consultants.
